  3. Let your laundry air dry outside

  4. Be sure you are replacing your air conditioner and air return filters regularly

  5. Build a garden and grow your own fresh fruits and veggies

  6. Find free summertime events that you can do outside with your family- (But please take Covid-19 precautions)

  7. Open a vacation account with Upstate Federal Credit Union and have a portion of your direct deposit go into the account so that you can plan for a great Summer vacation

  8. If you need to water grass, flowers etc., try to water them in the early morning or evening. During the hotter hours of the day, water will evaporate more, causing you to use more water often. This simple tip can reduce water utility costs

  9. Use sun-out curtains in your home to prevent the sun from peaking through into your home; which will heat up the inside quicker and tempt you to adjust your thermostat more often

  10. Try to meal prep, especially if you have children. This can reduce the time spent in the kitchen and allow you to spend more time doing Summer activities with the family outside!
